Do these switches require a neutral wire?
Yes. Because these are Smart WiFi switches, they require a constant power supply to stay connected to your network. A Neutral wire is mandatory for installation.
Can I use the 20A Smart Switch for my Air Conditioner?
Absolutely. Standard smart switches are often rated at 10A or 16A, which can burn out under the "startup load" of a large AC. Our 20A rating provides a safety buffer for heavy-duty cooling units, ensuring long-term reliability.
Why is the Double Pole version "Ideal for Geysers"?
In Malta, electrical regulations typically require a double pole switch for water heaters. This allows you to completely isolate the appliance from the grid during maintenance or in case of a fault. With the Smart Double Pole Switch, you get that safety compliance plus the ability to schedule heating times via your phone.
What app do these switches use?
Our switches are compatible with the Tuya Smart or Smart Life apps (available on iOS and Android). They also integrate seamlessly with Amazon Alexa and Google Home for voice control.
Will these fit in a standard Maltese wall box?
Yes, our switches are designed to fit standard 86mm x 86mm square back boxes (UK/Malta standard). We recommend a back box depth of at least 35mm to allow enough room for the smart module and wiring.
Can I replace my existing "dumb" geyser switch with the Smart Double Pole version?
Since most geyser points in Malta already have Live, Neutral, and Earth wires present, it is usually a direct swap. However, we always recommend installation by a qualified electrician to ensure the load is balanced correctly.
What happens if my WiFi goes down?
The switch will still function as a normal physical touch switch. You can turn your AC or Geyser on/off manually using the button on the wall until your connection is restored.
